Optical Systems
Precision to measure
STV Electronic develops and manufactures double-sided telecentric lenses individually according to your customer requirements – for the highest demands in industrial measurement technology.
Double-sided telecentric lenses offer a parallel beam path on the object and image side – the opening angle always remains at zero in the relevant range. This means that there are no perspective distortions, as can occur with entocentric lenses. The result: absolutely parallel light beams and a distortion-free, high-precision image.
In the telecentric range, the reproduction ratio remains almost constant along the optical axis (Z direction). Objects in different planes are therefore displayed the same size – ideal for measuring tasks in which objects are not exactly in one plane. The measurement accuracy is thus significantly increased.
Thanks to image-side telecentricity, all beams strike the image sensor perpendicularly. This prevents pixel vignetting and enables a flexible shift of the image plane for refocusing without influencing the reproduction ratio.
Typical applications
Measuring the diameter of holes and measuring marks at different heights (e.g. on printed circuit boards), height-independent contour measurement even with uneven workpieces, reliable detection and measurement of details on different levels, reliable verification of quality characteristics, efficient error detection on assembled printed circuit boards with complex components.
